Thrifty Recipe: Homemade Crescent Rolls

No need to buy the crescent rolls in the can anymore!
You can make them at home for pennies.

Here's how:

Gather the following ingredients:
2 Cups Warm Water
2 TBS Yeast
1/2 Cup Sugar
3 Eggs
3/4 Cup Melted Butter
6 Cups All-Purpose Flour
1 tsp. salt

Directions:
In Large Bowl, add warm water, yeast and sugar.
 Mix together.
Wait a few minutes, then add eggs and melted butter.
Mix together well.
Add flour, one cup at a time.
Dough will be sticky and will separate from sides of bowl.
Cover with plastic wrap and kitchen towl.
Put in warm place in the kitchen for an hour.
Let rise.
After an hour, punch down dough to remove air.
Put 1/2 of dough on floured surface and rollout into circle.
Cut into wedges with pizza cutter and roll dough into crescent rolls.
Put rolls on greased baking sheet.
Bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
Makes 24-30 rolls.

Recipe adapted from A Thrifty Mom

Enjoy!

Note: Freezes well after baking. Reheat in microwave for 1 minute in wrapped paper towel.
