"Not From a Box Mac N Cheese"
Ingredients:
1 box Macaroni Noodles (dry)
Cheese Sauce:
1 stick of butter
1 2/3 C. Milk
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 C. Shredded Cheddar Cheese
1/4 C. Pepperjack Cheese
1 tsp. Ground Dry Mustard
4 Tbsp. Flour
Directions:
Cook Macaroni Noodles as directed on the box.
I used the new Skinner "Quick Cook" Macaroni Style noodles.
They took I think about 3 minutes to make.
In a medium sized saucepan, melt the stick of butter over medium heat.
Once melted, add your flour one tablespoon at a time until fully incorporated.
Once your flour is cooked through, add your milk, salt, and dry mustard until combined.
Cook for about 5 minutes.
Add in your shredded cheddar and pepperjack cheeses until melted into sauce.
Cook for another 5 minutes.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Pour sauce over macaroni noodles.
Top with a bit more shredded cheese.
Result: The family thoroughly enjoyed it! This will become a staple in our household.
Tips: If you like it even spicier, I would add a 1/8 tsp. of cayanne pepper. (I'm not that brave)

I love making home made mac and cheese, it is much easier than people would think and so worth the effort! I love to add some canned petite diced tomatoes to mine!
Mmm..that looks really good. I've never made Not from the Box mac and cheese--and I hate from the box mac and cheese--but this one looks good!
